Atteia raised her head as the sun continued to beat down upon her head. She had been working along the fields of her people for quite a while now and her back was beginning to hurt. Yet her mother told her to continue until all of the fruit and wheat in the fields were picked and ready to be cooked. Unfortunately, Atteia still had a ways to go and she was getting thirsty.

She grasped the light brown sash around her neck and dress and whiped her forehead with it. Ahh I need a break... She thought, closing her eyes and placing the basket of gathered fruit upon the ground at her feet.

There were a few other workers working in the field and so she bet they wouldn't mind if she just slipped away for a bit. With a quick sprint, Atteia ran swiftly over to a nearby lake and looked into the water. She smiled as she spotted her reflection, but then scowled as she noticed that her hair was slightly messed up upon the top of her head. Hmm a bit of water will fix that... Erekko's hated water oh so much yet they weren't afraid of touching it. She gave a smile and dipped her paws in before dabbing the top of her head. Yet as she looked at her reflection once again, she growled in frustration, for it still looked terrible. Ugh... maybe a little more... She reached into the water once again, yet with a gasp, Atteia suddenly fell into the deep water and with a yelp she began to flail around in distress. "Help Help!" She called out for like most Erekko's -- she didn't know how to swim...

Dakurno's ears suddenly perked up as he heard the voice of a young girl from the tree he was perched on. He looked around to see if the source of the voice was in sight, but he could see nothing. Though he shouldn't have been in the Erekko's land, he felt almost responsible to help the girl. As the cry was sent through the air, Dakurno finally figured out the direction in which it was coming from. Giant, silver wings emerged from the creature's back and he quickly rose into the air, gliding over the fields in which the Erekko were working. He made sure to avoid any projectiles that they threw at him, as he was a Finoki- rival of the Erekko. But his instict kept him searching for the girl. "There you are!" he whispered to himself, quickly descending right into the water. The wings shrunk into his back and he quickly made his way through the water to the Erekkian girl. "Are you okay?" he asked, helping her above the water.

Atteia gasped as her gaze suddenly focused on the figure helping her. Yet she was in such terror that she didn't even take the time to identify who, or more importantly- what it was. Immediately, she threw her arms forward and around the mysterious stranger and pulled her head above water, grasping him tightly. For a moment, she coughed, her eyes closing tightly as she forced the water from her lungs, until finally, she caught her breath- fur still soaking wet. Now the Erekko finally took the time to look at the person she was actually hanging on to. And to her surprise, it was a... Finoki!

Atteia suddenly gave out a yelp of surprise. "Get away from me!!" She gasped, pushing herself away from him, but once again, she sunk into the water, flopping and panicking like before.

Dakurno rolled his eyes and floated there in the water, watching her half-drowning. "You having fun?" he asked sarcastically, raising an eyebrow. Of course that would be a reaction of an Erekko. Why did he even bother trying to save her? "Got my clothes wet for nothing," he muttered, adjusting the black goggles on his forehead and getting ready to take off in flight, out of the water- a special Finoki skill he had just recently learned.

Atteia's eyes widened as she noticed the Finoki was about to take off once again. And with a panicked squeak, she kicked her legs forward, throwing herself into him and pulled both of them into the water. She gasped lightly, feeling her throat beginning to tighten as she began swallowing and breathing in the cold water.
