Nobody knows what the old Carter place is supposed to be. It looks like it's just ruins, and unvisited for a while. Yes, abandoned. But hidden from the regular humans is a school. An elite boarding school designed for the special, gifted humans. These humans could control certain elements, or be more skilled at certain areas than others. But nobody even knows the name of the school, not even the students. There's liars everywhere, and they're out to get you. It's the old Carter place, after all. At least, that's what the regular humans nearby call it. A lot of humans have tried to venture into the building recently. More than ever. Some have been reported missing, and some haven't been able to get in through the barrier spell cast by the headmistress. What is it really like? What will it take for the gifted students to protect their secrets?
Why don't you find out? It's applicationless, so information like history, and personality will be mysterious until you get to know each other. Also, there only needs to be two short paragraphs per post. Unless you want it to be higher, say that in ooc, or AIM if you have mine. xD The only powers that aren't fair are the ones that control other people and their powers. For example... My character is Aura, and the header says that she might summon your power. She doesn't exactly summon it, but she's sweet and can accidentally talk people into doing things. So, I'll start. :3 (and I have a lot of muse today, so it's not exactly semilit at the moment. xD)
There was a loud snap! as Aura opened her brown pop bottle. Even if they almost lived in captivity, or so it seemed, they had access to normal everyday food and stuff like cheese curls and brown pop. Her favourite food combination. Sure, it made you fat, but she could always exercise it off in the power control class. The PC was when you went into the backyard field with an instructor and learned how to control your power. She was there a lot, as it was one of her selected subjects. No humans could see them from outside a special field cast by the headmistress. Nobody knew the headmistress's name, so all of the other students called her 'H' for headmistress. H was the most powerful of them all, and she started the boarding school for gifted children to learn how to effectively use their power.
Aura clutched the bottle of pop and slowly began to drink, lifting a pinky finger up while all of her other fingers and thumb circled around the bottle. It was her way of drinking, as she was used to it. It probably came from all of those tea parties she used to have as a little kid. Even when she was 15, which was now, she still had the old habits that she had as a kid. Too bad they didn't eat from tables at lunch here, because she would have put her elbows on them. Her school used benches where you had to sit and hold your lunch. Aura was a girl of bad habits. Well, at least she didn't bite her nails, like she used to. She snuck her drink from the cafe earlier when she was at lunch. Food wasn't allowed out of the cafe, but she was a master of convincing people to do things. Accidentally.
They taught her how to lie here, too. It was a needed skill if you wanted to protect the school's secret. It wasn't really an elite boarding school, or a broken down old Carter place. Nobody knew what it really was, and the kids all were scared to lurk the hallways at night. Nobody knew why, but they were just always scared. Maybe it was because of the spirit of the place. It was always slightly dark, unless you were outside. The outside yards were bright as ever, but from the outside it looked dark and gloomy. Aura felt a sudden chill. Were the ghosts up to it again? There were rumored ghosts around the parts. Or was there another kid around? "Hello?" She called out in a weak voice.
She whistled once in a high pitch, paused, then whistled again, longer this time. It was the official whistled of her gang. It meant, 'Who's there?', or 'Show yourself!'. The term 'gang' stood for group of friends at the boarding school, and there were lots of gangs. The more social gang had something that wasn't a whistle, like a handshake or something. Her gang was more of the my-parents-forced-me-to-come-here sort, where the kids were all a bit mad and cocky, and more mannerless than the rest. Aura perked her ears and squinted, and put her brown pop beside her. Was the noise going to whistle back? Or was she hearing things and whistled for nothing?
