*A few years after the events of Brisingr*
"Death stalks the land of Alagaësia, and the seven must stand against it. All good left must bind together and fight to overcome the Evil..."
This is the prophecy predicted by Angela the Herbalist. A lot has happened since the taking of Fienster: - Galbatorix was killed by Eragon and overthrown by Nasuada, who now rules the country in a kind and caring manner. She is the people's queen, and almost everyone loves her. - Murtagh was captured during the Battle for Urû'baen and, when Galbatorix died, was released from his oaths to the evil king. He now is one of the most loyal Dragon Riders around and is married to Nasuada. They have one daughter. - The Dragon Riders have been restored, for Saphira mated with the dragon from the third egg, Beroan. (Eragon recovered this egg and it hatched for Arya) Eragon leads them. - Eragon and Arya got married (or whatever elves do) after the Battle for Urû'baen, and had two children, who are Dragon Riders themselves. - Roran and Katrina had twins, who now are also Dragon Riders - The humans, dwarves, elves, and Urgals (who now occupy the Hadarac Desert) live in peace with one-another.
But a new race seems to have entered the mix. The Kadre. Evil creatures that looks like humans, but with the head of a cat and claws for hands and feet. They were seen at first only in groups of two or three, but sightings have been reported seeing groups of twenty or more. Is this just coincidence, or is there and uprising happening. A dark uprising, perhaps?
RULES: - Play as almost whoever you want, but a dragon rider would be easier for everyone and probably for the best. - Don't play as any key characters in the book. Please. Make your own. - The son of Eragon and Arya is taken, but the other sons and daughters are open. - As in the prophecy, these are seven new Dragon Riders. That leaves two Riders left if you want to make your own character. First come, first serve!! - A short bio would be appreciated, but is not required. I don't know how to do the copy-and-paste bio thing, but include the following: name, age, gender, dragon name, personality of both rider and dragon, history (optional), weapon and weapon name, and any other information that you feel should be given.
Have fun role-playing! If you want me to change a minor problem, or just want to change something to make role-playing better/easier, send me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

Here's a sample bio using the character I'm using: Name: Brom Eragonsson
Name-Sake: Storyteller and Dragon Rider Brom
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Dragon's Name: Voldum
Looks: Brom has a tall, dark, and handsome look. Long, slightly-shaggy dark hair, brown eyes, and a medium build. Semi-muscular, very lean, and is fairly tall. Voldum is a large metallic-colored dragon
Personality: Brom is, in a few words, a leader. He's kind to everyone and is good at settling decisions. He also to be in charge and is a master tactician. Instead of charging into a fight, he strategically commands groups of troops to attack, then goes into battle. Likes long-range weapons, and uses a lot of fire and healing magic. He's also a deadly swordsman, even for a Dragon Rider. Brom also is extremely good at chess, but few people know that only a select few, including Elves, that can beat him. You can definitely tell that Voldum is Brom's dragon. He's very loyal, almost to a fault, and is rarely far away from Brom. Uses fire a lot, and is good-natured and caring.
History: Not much to put. Eragon and Arya's Oldest child. Had a great childhood. Wasn't spoiled, and made many friends. Voldum hatched for him early on.
Weapon: Arget- A silver sword with a brown handle and a maroon guard. In fused with several diamonds. Also uses a Elven-made bow called Vindr.

"Ow!!"That's all Brom managed to say as the nurse pulled an arrow out of his shoulder. The day started off as any normal. He had just gone on a scouting mission in Urû'baen and was flying over the Spine when arrows rushed out of the tree's to greet him. Voldum burned most of the projectiles, but a few came past it. One hit Brom in the shoulder one to the thigh, and one in Voldum's wing. All were fairly minor wounds, and in a few seconds the battle had been won. Brom laughed at the memories. Kadre hated fire. Brom and Voldum love fire. Simple as that.
Once all the arrows were out, Brom shuffled to his father's room as Voldum went to the place where dragon's sleep. "Brom, I heard what happened. Are you all right?" his dad asked in surprise. "I'm fine, dad..." Brom grumbled, but was secretly relieved. He always felt same around his dad. After giving his report to Eragon, Brom left to go to the "lounge", a fun place were all the young Dragon Riders went to hang out. Brom went to one of the many couches, plopped down, and rested up.
OOC: Sorry it sucks, I don't have the book. My uncle is borrowing it.

"Penny?" Called a soft voice. It was both strong, and quiet, a wierdly conflicting voice. You could feel the strength just from that simple word, but also the fact that it could be soft, and gentle. The voice? It belonged to Dream, a dragon of course. What other animal could have such a conflicting voice other then a dragon? The dragons name, as stated, was dream or dreamer, ' draumr or eld dramur '. The dragon was grey, a very nuetral and bland color for a dragon to be. Most were only grey undertoned, but had brighter, more prominent colors above them, such as blue, red or green, but no, Dream only had a dark grey and lighter grey with a silver underbelly. The only color she really had would be her eyes, bright blue. Blue eyes were usually only for blue dragons, but well, Dream has blue eyes, lets just leave it at that. The small word had only been whispered, but it could be heard through the trees to where a girl was sleeping soundly, her hair billowing in the wind slightly. This girl? That would be Penny - Penelope.
She was about fifteen, just turned actually. She was a dragon rider, though she didn't fit in at all - except that a dragon had hatched for her, hat was the only thing she had in common with the others of her race. Penny was small, and pale - looking delicate but strong at the same time. She burned easily, the only thing was odd was that she rarely got sick and was nearly never hurt badly from the worst things. All of her wounds seemed to heal within a few days, without magic even. She had that shiny new penny-brown colored hair, that came down to her shoulders. Her hair was wavy naturally, and then curled at the ends to reach up and touch her chin. The girl also had large, dark green eyes with lighter specks in them, all around she had a very innocent appearance, and nobody would have ever guessed that she was a dragon rider - except for the small silver markings in her hand that deemed her one; even if the markings didn't look right. Unlike the others her marking was different as well, instead of the image of a dragon printed in her palm, her skin had turn a silvery color there, looking like flames, they even looked like they moved in changing light.
Her green eyes opened slowly as the sound reached her. She pushed her hair back, blinking her eyes once more before sitting up. She could hear her dragon moving in front of the trees, a call to have her come. The young girl reluctantly stood up, brushing off of her clothes. They were rather simple. Penny had never had expensive, intricate clothing so she didn't want any now. Just simple clothes - the only semi-expensive thing she wore was a necklace that one of the past riders had used. It wasn't all that feminine, it was just a necklace with a blue-grey jewel, something to put power into it if she ever needed it. She had tried already, but the power that had been left within it pushed her back out, so she just wore it - and on a daily basis forgot that it had power within it. Penelope walked to her dragon, looking around her as she passed the tree. She came up behind Dream, petting her leg lightly.
"Why are you making me?" she asked, walking up to her head. "Yes, You must socialize with the others." Penny sighed, a silent agreement. She didn't exactly like talking with others, since she hadn't been all that social as a child. Her father and her had lived slightly out of town, and he had never really taken her places with all of the work he had. So yeah, she was anti-social in a way. Following Dream quietly they arrived at the town area. Her dragon nudged her along all the way to the 'hangout' of the dragon riders. They were all older then her, no matter by how much, and they had all come from 'important' families. Unlike them, Penny had grown up in a small town, she hadn't been noticed a lot, and when she was it had always been 'that's the blacksmiths girl' or someone had just pointed out a mistake of hers, never because she was just her. All the others had been famous before they were even born.
She walked to the door, still not wanting to enter. But of course, Dream took control and pushed her through the door. Penny stumbled in, great impressions right? Her hair had fallen in front of her face as she caught herself on the doorframe. She shook her head, her hair falling away from it again. "Err... Hello," she said, turn around to lean on the doorframe. She was rarely in this compound, let alone with other people, talking inside it. She then realized who she was talking to. Eragon's son. She couldn't have spoken to somebody who was a little less ... let's say, important? Penny blinked her green eyes, not having anything else really to say. She let go of the door frame, and as leisurely as she could walked over to a chair, aways from Brom. She sat down, bringing her legs up onto the chair to sit indian-style while she kept her gaze roaming around the room.

Pain eased and slowly died away as soon as Brom relaxed a bit. He was sure that in an hour or two he'd be fine. Besides, he'd be hurt worse. One time, Voldum had to drag him to the base. Seeing as how Brom had a sword in his leg, a javelin sticking out of his chest, and some many arrows sticking out of him that he kind of looked like a porcupine. That one hurt for days.
When Brom thought he felt a bit better, he decided that he should check on Voldum. But just as he was about to get up, he heard a noise outside the door. Just then a girl burst into the room. Ah, Penny. Just the person he wanted to see.

The girl felt weird, like something - or in this case someone - was staring at her. Taking a chance she glanced at him, only to have her cheeks grow slightly redder then before as her eyes darted away from him. Yeah, he was looking at her, and not saying anything. She had said something, she had tried to start a conversation. She had done what Dream told her, she had tried to start a conversation with another rider, if he didn't speak back that wasn't her fault. She had done what she had been told to do. She could go now right? Penny, being Penny of course did not in the least have the courage to just stand up and walk away, her mind was already going through the possibilities of what he might do if she did. Would he think she was rude? Would he complain about her to his father? She wouldn't take that chance of course, since being a dragon rider - well just having and being with her dragon - was the most important, and really only, thing in her life. The girl began to rock back and forth slightly, trying to find anything else to keep her attention that wouldn't make her seem rude. She was never good under pressure, and the heavy silence was putting her under pressure. She blinked her eyes once more, wishing something would happen where he would talk or she didn't have too.

Penny. What a... unique person. She was one of two Dragon Rider's that weren't somehow connected to Brom's own father. But that didn't matter to Brom. He wanted to get to know her better (as he would all new Dragon Riders) but the problem was that he couldn't. She was always alone or talking to her dragon. He rarely talked to her. This was his chance to talk, finally. He slowly got to his feet, not wanting to disturb his wounds and turned to face Penny. "You ok, Penny?" he asked. "You look kind of shaken up..." he said in concern. He quickly scanned her for any sighs of injury. "Hey, I think your shoulder might be bleeding a bit." Then realizing that it might just be her shirt, he stumbled with his words and managed to add "Oh, it mig.. Um.. you kn.. Ahh, nevermind...." He looked down at the floor, embarrassed. "So, how's your training going?" he added meekly. All Rider's had an adult that trained them. Brom's was Murtagh and he thought that Penny's was Katrina. But maybe it was Arya. He didn't know.

She blinked her eyes, her hair falling over her face slightly as she met his gaze. Penny was shy, yes, but she wasn't rude - no matter who she was talking to she would always look them in the eye. It wasn't about being at the same level with them, or defying anyone or anything, she had just always been taught that it was rude to look away. "Uhh, I'm fine. Like always," she said, a small smile on her face. Did he care? Probably not. He was the 'leader' of the new dragon riders, and should look after the others anyways. Bleeding? She didn't feel any blood on her body. She glanced down slightly. Her shirt was red, and cut slightly. Penelope hit herself mentally; 'I must've caught my shoulder on something...' She thought, taking her gaze away from her shoulder, but not looking back at Brom. "No, I'm fine," she repeated.
Training? Hmm, Arya was her mentor. She was never around though, always having something to do with this or that. She might be a dragon rider now, and the war might be over, but she was still always here or there, and was never long enough in the dragon rider's compound for more than one lesson. So her training was obviously going quite slowly. Not to mention she still heard some people say that Arya should've gotten an older, more expirenced new rider for her student; which pretty much translated to Penny shouldn't be her student for this reason or that. "Trainings... Okay. But you know, Arya's never really around. How about yours?" she asked, trying to keep the conversation going.

Brom didn't want to come off as an idiot, but it was hard not to. He glanced up and read Penny's face. "My training is, as normal, boring as ever. Sorry about mom... Arya. She doesn't even tell me where she's going. By the way, I do care. If you want to do this job, I'll gladly give it to you..." he said with a smirk. "Being the leader sucks!" Brom leaned back against the couch and examined her scratch. "If you want, I can heal that for you." he said. It looked pretty deep from where he was. "It would only take a second..."

Penny sighed lightly, almost inaudible really as she learned back against the arm of the chair. "It doesn't really matter, Arya has her work to do and I understand that. I guess I just feel priveledged to be her student," she said, beginning to find something that would capture her attention. She finally decided on watching her hand glow and dim like the marking did. Pen opened it slightly, just enough for the light to catch on the silver marking. Why was she so different? Nobody knew for sure, and if they did they certainly weren't going to tell her. "Leader? N-no. I'm not the one to tell others what to do, besides - The job's much better suited for the first rider of our generation and the son of Eragon!" Her eyes drifted up to him when he said heal. "Healing? Oh, with magic. No thanks, like I said - I'm perfectly fine, no magic needed," she said, turning slightly so her hurt arm was rest against the back of the chair, so it was more out of sight. "Besides, it'll probably be all healed by tonight," she stated, her gaze going back to her hand. Talking was most definately not her forte, and it surprised her she had been speaking this long to someone who barely awknowledged her exsistance except for that she was one of his riders. 'Well, it's not his fault,' she told herself mentally, 'Everyone forgets I exist a lot.'

Brom stood up. She sure wasn't making this easy. "Well, I got to go... See ya around." he said. He was about to walk out the door and visit Voldum when his father walked in. "Dad, I..." Brom was cut off by Eragon. "Penny, Brom, strap up. You two are going on a scouting mission. There's been Kadre sightings near Furnost. Check it out." Brom looked at Penny then back at his Eragon "What ever you say..." he said to his dad as Eragon walked out. "Looks like your gonna have to bear with me for a bit longer." Brom said with a smile. Then he walked out to suit up Voldum and himself. On his way out, he said "Meet me in an hour..." Then he was gone.

Leaving? Was she really that bad at having a conversation? Apparently, because he got up to go leave. She sighed slightly. Dream would never get her wish of having a social rider. Maybe over time. Perhaps her next lesson with Arya should be how to talk to people. Arya never had trouble with talking to other people. She'd probably find it silly though, she'd ask anyways. Never hurt to ask, right? Just as she was about to stand up, and follow Brom out to go find her grey dragon Eragon walked in.
'Dream?' If Eragon was here Dream might as well be listening to whatever he had to say. Penelope always kept her mind open, not minding if her dragon heard everything. Dream on the other hand wasn't always ready read. Apparently she could hear the other dragons' thoughts, and she disliked that immensely. She blinked. Kadres? What were Kadres? Was she totally out of the loop? 'See, this is why I wanted you to talk more,' Dream stated simply in her matter-of-fact way. Pen rolled her eyes slightly, annoyed with Dream. Why'd she always have to be that way.
"One hour, got it," she said to herself, getting up off the chair and walking in the opposite direction, toward the clearing where Dream always rested. She walked at a normal pace, musing about the mission. When she arrived at the clearing, roughly ten minutes later she smiled at her resting grey dragon. "Hello Dream!" she called, smiling at her sapphire-eyed beauty. "How've you been Dream?" She asked, walking over to the tree where she kept everything. The oil, the rag, and the of course the saddle."Fine, fine." She nodded, walking past the oil and picking up the saddle from the branch she kept it on.
She carried it over to Dream, not even have to ask for her to kneel down. Penelope sighed when she put it on Dream's back, sliding down her warm scales to walk underneath her belly and chest, beginning to strap it up. "I don't see why I just can't ride bareback, it takes forever to put this saddle on,"he complained, messing with on of the buckles. "How is it so easy for everyone else?" Dream shrugged, making Penny fall backwards, where she just sat. She still had time. The brunette just laid there, thinking. "Hmm, you notice how Eragon called me Penny? I thought all the adults called me Penelope. I know Arya does, so do a few of the other dragon riders..." Yes, just a random comment of Pen's.
The green eyed girl closed her eyes, laying in the shade beneath her dragon's stomach. Dream didn't mind obviously, since she just sort of stood there, a slight hum coming from her throat. Her sapphire eyes were closed, while Penelope was laying down, her arms under her head, and her eyes obviously closed. Poor Penny, she was never good with time anyways. Maybe Brom would just get another rider, or if he didn't hopefully he wouldn't be that mad when he found her.

Brom gathered up his gear. "A scouting mission?!?" he said with annoyance. Suddenly, Voldum's thoughts entered his own. 'Would you stop complaing...' the dragon replied, yawning while he was at it. 'Besides, that Dream is kinda cute.' Voldum snort a dragon laugh and Brom chuckled. 'And so is that Penny girl' he said with a wink. Brom continued grabbing things and packing despite this comment."It's not her." Brom said with a sigh. "It's just that I just came back from one!" After taking a quick shower and putting some light armor on Voldum and himself, Brom was ready to go.
After sitting down back at the lounge for a few minutes, Brom realized he still had time to spare. A lot of time, actually. 'Maybe Penny finished packing already....' he thought with hope. He got up, then set off to find her.

Ah, sleep. The best thing ever. Undisturbed sleep, that was actually the best thing ever. But poor Penny. Her sleep would've normally been undisturbed, except for her conscience nagging her in the back of her mind. Yes, she was supposed to be doing something. It continuously told her so, the only problem was that she couldn't really remember that something that she was supposed to be doing at the moment. Her conscience was ruining her peaceful dream, of running through the forest searching for a fairy. Unfortunately for her, her conscience wasn't giving up. Giving in, the girl opened her eyes - only to close them immediately because of the blinding light. Obviously Dream had moved and wasn't standing over her any longer. Inching her eyes open again, slowly this time, she saw that Dream was now laying underneath the shade of the trees, snoozing away on the warm afternoon. Letting her silver dragon sleep, Penny rested the back of her head on her arms, watching the sky above her.
'Shouldn't you be getting ready to go scout Pen?' Dream asked, in her always soft, always calming tone. Penny sighed, slightly heavily. "I suppose..." she muttered, knowing Dream would've heard her whether she spoke or not. The bronze brunette continued to watch the sky, with it's little puffs of cloud whisper slowly along with the breeze. She loved to ride in the clouds, on Dream of course, but still in the clouds. They were always so cool and wet, and it gave her a thrill to fly through something many people knew nothing about. She sighed again, out of relaxation and because Dream was mumbling to herself again, meaning she was going to tell her to do something again. 'Sweetie, you should get ready. You do have to go on the scouting mission with Brom. Besides it might give you the chance to see Kadres.' Ah yeah, Pen didn't know what Kadres are or what they looked like. "But I still have time, I will in a little while," she mumbled again, watching one particular cloud travel across the sun.
